It was a short and sweet visit out west, but I got to meet this little sweetheart! And of course, I was thrilled to take some newborn and family pictures while I was there :) I have so many favorites from this session so I decided to make a few collages since there were so many photos I wanted to share. We were all so excited for the arrival of this little one, and he is absolutely precious, I can't wait to see him again in a couple months!
On a side note, newborn photography is something completely new to me but I still think we got some great shots, although I am a little biased! I had fun doing these pictures, so for anyone out there looking for some newborn photos...I'd love the practice! ;)
Notice their beautiful wedding photo, taken by Darlene O'Rourke, in the background. I think it adds to this picture perfectly.

Engagement session with Chad and Holly
More catch up.. here is a post from an engagement shoot with Chad and Holly. I love wedding and engagement photos and what's even better is when you get to work with your friends! We did this shoot a few weeks ago now, and their wedding is fast approaching in August! I can't wait to share in the special day with this great couple capturing all the moments and joy of the day :)

I love weddings!
I came across this slideshow from Jenna and Devon's wedding that was still hanging out on my computer, and as I watched it again it reminded me of how much I love weddings and being able to capture that pure happiness of the day. I had so much fun with Jenna and Devon and everyone involved, what a great day it was. Wedding photography is not a full time job for me, and I don't believe it ever will be. I do it because I love to and I don't ever want it to become a job that I do because I have to. However... I do still have 2013 dates available and would be thrilled to fill them with weddings for anyone still looking for a photographer ;)

Winter Wedding
Here is a long overdue blog post, this was a winter wedding I did back
in January right before leaving for a 2 month trip to Australia. We were
all hoping for a winter wonderland wedding, especially me, but with no
such luck it was a beautiful wedding just the same for this great
couple. Melissa and I have been friends for a little while now, and you
can find more photos I have done with her back in some of the equine
shoots from 2009. I was excited to photograph my first Winter Wedding and at such a great location. They had some cute ideas..like putting "I Do" and "Me Too" on the bottom of their shoes, doing a "guest tree" as their quest book and I also really liked how she did up her flowers with the bling and necklace piece. Congratulations you two!! What a great day it was and its always a pleasure to work with you both :)

Cool Anniversary Photos
If you have an anniversary coming up (or even better if you just got married) here's a very cool idea for all your future anniversaries to come. Preferably starting with your first anniversary, hold a photo of both of you on your wedding day in your anniversary photo, do this every year, holding the previous year's anniversary photo. One day you will be able to look back at all your anniversaries starting from the day you got married, all in one photo!

Paul and Melissa Engaged
We could not have asked for a more perfect night last Friday for an engagement shoot, a shoot that we had to reschedule twice because of rain. I have worked with Melissa a couple times before for Equine Shoots and was excited to hear from her about her Engagement! She had requested that we do the engagement shoot at Mt Nemo conservation area near Burlington since this is the where Paul and Melissa had their first date, and got engaged. A special spot for the two of them, and it was perfect! We had the entire place to ourselves, there were no bugs at all on a beautiful warm night and we had a gorgeous sunset. What more could we ask?!
Paul and Melissa's wedding is in January, it will be my first winter wedding and I'm so excited about it!! I love winter and have been hoping for a winter wedding to come along! :)
Congratulations Paul and Melissa and I can't wait to capture your special day!!
